Class Fun

Come and join us at one of our Saturday morning classes where you will not only create something and learn a new technique, but get together with other crafty ladies for some good old fashioned “me” time!.

Check out the latest offerings for the next lot of classes coming up!

Tomorrow (Saturday 28th April) we are making this peyote bracelet called “Peyote Paradise”. Perfect for those who were keen to learn the art of peyote stitch using needle and thread.

Next week the Saturday class (4th May) will be the comeback of an old faithful – “Crystal Lace” necklace. This one is learning right angle weave with lovely Czech glass and crystal drops.

The week after – Saturday 11th May we will be doing the bracelet “Dew Drops” which has featured on the front cover of the new Australian Beading – out this week! You will love making this one up – lots of fun.

Qld Brides Expo

Had a great time at the Qld Brides Expo over the weekend and met lots of lovely couples and families ready to embark on the wedding planning journey! With any luck our jewellery & accessories will be part of that process!

I have been going through a vintage flower phase so my display had a slightly French Provincial theme where I found a padded board in the garage which I covered with some calico and jazzed up with braid and lace and some handmade flowers. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to hang the board as I’d hoped thanks to the unexpected large join in the middle of the wall of the stand!! Oh well it sort of worked.

My black wire lady was looking a little sad so I gave her a coat of paint and she has come up a treat! Found some gorgeous artificial flowers and I think it really capped off the look. Some cute little butterflies on the walls and it was a homely little 2 × 2 cubicle for a few days.

There are so many new ideas going through my head for lace belts and other accessories once again there are not enough hours in the day so we’ll see how the next few weeks pan out.

Beginner's Beading Classes

Come along and find out how easy it is to make your own jewellery! Thursday mornings at 10:30am – 2 hour class. We supply tools to use in the class and show you how to design, string and create wire loops to make a necklace & matching earrings. $25 covers the materials including the “Back to Basics” Kit as pictured and class fee. Tea & coffee provided.

Redlands Bridal Expo Fun!

We had a great day down at the Redlands Boat Club where my friend Muriel and her very good friend Pete dressed up for the occasion as “Bride & Groom”! (just for the day of course!). Lots of great photos of Muriel modelling my jewellery and accessories so a big thank you to them both for coming along!

My beaded bouquets had lots of attention again as you can see how gorgeous they look with the whole ensemble of bling!

Now it’s time to focus on the Craft Show coming up at the end of March so I’ll be in major kit-making mode up until then.

Bridal Expo Wrap-Up

We had a great day down at the Wynnum RSL last Sunday at the Bayside Bridal Expo. The day included a mock wedding featuring my beaded bouquet held here by the lovely Sharna who was the “bride” on the day. I finished my set-up with 5 minutes to spare – turned out pretty well I thought!

It was a pretty good turn out considering it was the first one at this venue. Colleen from the RSL did an awesome job organising the day so a big thanks. Also to Rebecca from Penny Lane Bridal who along with a few other businesses got the ball rolling to make this Expo happen.

Good luck to all of the couples who are planning their big day – you must have lots of decisions to make!

Congratulations to Pamela Whitehouse who won my Jewellery Set of the beautiful freshwater pearl and crystal heart pendant necklace & earrings.

This weekend is the Redlands Bridal Expo so we are hoping for another good turnout! So come along to the Redlands Boat Club – 1 William St, Cleveland – 9:30am to 3:00pm.

Bridal Expos

Only a few days until our first Bridal Expo at the Wynnum RSL Club this Sunday. I have been busy making up some new creations including another beaded bouquet in white pearls and crystals which will be on display at the expo. We are giving away a $250 gift voucher as one of the door prizes and will also be holding another raffle at our display area to win a necklace and earring set on the day so make sure you tell all your friends about it!.

We are also going to be exhibiting at the Redlands Boat Club on the following Sunday (19th Feb), an event which has been held here for the last 8 years so I’m also looking forward to being part of that.

I am now making crystal beach sandals as they seem to be very popular for those doing the beach weddings. It’s all very exciting so do come along and have a look at our full Bridal Collection.

Welcome to our new website!

Hi Everyone!

Welcome to our very new website that I hope will become a favourite of yours that will be interesting and worth coming back to!.

Sometimes when bad things happen, good things can result so thank you to the lovely website hackers who trashed our old website for giving us the opportunity to improve our business look and feel and create something we can be proud of!! (luckily I am a “glass half-full” kinda gal!)…

So – there are obviously a lot of changes and it may take a bit of playing around to get used to our new set up. We have tried to simplify our range of products so basically there is the Beading Supply side and there is the Finished Jewellery range including Bridal and Formal. The search engine is a LOT better and will hopefully help to find what you are after.

We have not listed all of our findings as there are literally thousands of these products and I would really like to get some sleep at some point!, so you can always put in a request if you can’t find what you are looking for. Sterling Silver, 14k gold fill and anti-tarnish brass will be listed as well as findings “packs” such as the components packs we use for a lot of our kits will be available separately as well as part of a kit.

The repairs service is still available and hasn’t changed – so local ladies are still welcome to drop these off to me.

That is pretty much the latest as far as the website goes so it will be a work in progress for a couple of months so we really appreciate your patience over the last few weeks for it all to come back online.
